How it got here
The legislation originated from the need for funding to support affordable housing initiatives in San Francisco, prompted by the Permanent Local Housing Allocation Program established under California's SB 2.
The Department issued a Notice of Funding Availability for the Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) Program, providing approximately $195 million for housing-related projects.
The Board authorized the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) to apply for PLHA funds through Resolution No. 320-20.
The Department announced an award of $8,718,035 to San Francisco under the PLHA program, requiring a Standard Agreement to be executed.
MOHCD submitted a resolution to the Board of Supervisors to accept and expend the total PLHA grant of $52,308,210 for programming approved by the Department.
