How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to fund remaining components of Crane Cove Park, following a public integrity assessment that recommended formalizing relationships with non-profit partners.
The Crane Cove Park Project was first identified in the Port's Waterfront Land Use Plan.
The Pier 70 Preferred Master Plan, which includes Crane Cove Park, was endorsed by the Port Commission.
The Port Commission approved Resolution No. 19-45 to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the San Francisco Parks Alliance for the Crane Cove Park Fundraising Campaign.
A Public Integrity Review recommended that City Departments formalize relationships with non-profit organizations through memoranda of understanding.
The resolution authorizing the Port to accept and expend grants from the San Francisco Parks Alliance was introduced to the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution authorizing the Port to execute the MOU and accept $3,250,000 in grants for Crane Cove Park.
The Mayor approved the resolution, allowing the Port to proceed with the funding for Crane Cove Park.
