How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to extend and increase funding for the COVID-19 Food Assistance Program administered by the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.
The Human Services Agency entered into a grant agreement with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to provide COVID-19 Food Assistance for a term of 8.5 months, from July 1, 2020, through March 15, 2021, for an amount not to exceed $9,900,000.
The Board of Supervisors approved the first amendment to the grant agreement, extending the term through December 31, 2021, and increasing the total not to exceed amount to $15,526,825.
The Human Services Agency submitted a proposed resolution for the second amendment to the grant agreement to extend the term and increase the funding due to ongoing needs.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the second amendment to the grant agreement, increasing the grant amount by $7,424,820 for a total not to exceed amount of $22,951,645.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution approving the second amendment to the grant agreement, extending the term to June 30, 2022.
The Mayor approved the resolution, finalizing the second amendment to the grant agreement.
