How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to extend and increase funding for a contract with MSC Industrial Supply Company for industrial supplies used by City departments.
The Office of Contract Administration issued an Invitation for Bids #74103 for industrial supplies, selecting MSC Industrial Supply Company as the lowest qualified bidder, resulting in a contract starting May 1, 2017, with a not-to-exceed amount of $4 million.
The first modification increased the contract amount to $5 million and extended the contract duration.
The second modification increased the contract amount to $6.5 million.
The third modification extended the contract end date to April 30, 2021, and increased the contract amount to $8.5 million.
The fourth modification extended the contract end date to April 30, 2022, and increased the contract amount to $9.5 million.
The fifth modification increased the contract amount to $9.9 million.
The Office of Contract Administration proposed a sixth modification to increase the contract amount to $15.7 million and extend the term to June 30, 2023, due to increased usage of industrial supplies.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution authorizing the sixth modification to the contract with MSC Industrial Supply Company.
