How it got here
This legislation originated from the need to implement Expanded Compliance Control and Consumer Protection provisions following amendments to the Building Code enacted in March 2021.
The Board enacted amendments to the Building Code that included provisions for Expanded Compliance Control and Consumer Protection.
DBI launched an initiative to implement reforms related to the Expanded Compliance Control provisions.
Supervisor Ronen introduced a hearing request to provide a six-month status update on the implementation of the Expanded Compliance Control provisions.
The Clerk of the Board referred the hearing request to the Department of Building Inspection and the Office of the City Attorney for their input.
The Land Use and Transportation Committee continued the hearing to a later date, allowing for further discussion on the implementation status.
