How it got here
The Heron’s Head Park Shoreline Resilience Project originated from the need to address significant erosion and habitat degradation at Heron’s Head Park, prompting the Port of San Francisco to seek funding from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The Port applied for grant funds from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to construct a natural infrastructure-based shoreline at Heron’s Head Park.
CDFW recommended an award of $1,493,000 for the Heron’s Head Park Shoreline Resilience Project.
The Port Commission authorized the acceptance and expenditure of the grant funds and allowed the Executive Director to negotiate and execute the Grant Agreement.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the resolution to accept and expend the grant funds.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution authorizing the Port to accept and expend the grant from CDFW.
The Mayor approved the resolution, finalizing the authorization for the Port to proceed with the project.
