How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to adopt a Cultural, History, Housing, and Economic Sustainability Strategy Report for the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District, as mandated by the Administrative Code.
The Board enacted Ordinance No. 126-18, adding Chapter 107 to the Administrative Code to create a process for establishing cultural districts in San Francisco.
The Board established the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District to preserve the unique cultural heritage of the community.
MOHCD, in partnership with various city departments and the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District, completed the Cultural, History, Housing, and Economic Sustainability Strategy Report (CHHESS).
The President transferred the CHHESS report from the Land Use & Transportation Committee to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee for further consideration.
The committee recommended the adoption of the CHHESS report to the full Board of Supervisors.
The Board adopted the resolution to adopt the CHHESS report, which outlines strategies for the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District.
The Mayor approved the resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
