How it got here
The legislation originated from a grant agreement between the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and the Department of Public Health to support the development of a Geriatric Emergency Department.
The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation agreed to fund the Department of Public Health with a grant of $376,000 for the Geriatric Emergency Department Planning Grant, which began on this date.
An initial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was drafted, incorrectly stating the project start date as March 1, 2021, instead of January 1, 2020.
The Department of Public Health received the corrected MOU, which allowed for retroactive reimbursement of expenses incurred since the actual project start date.
The Department prepared the accept and expend packet for the grant and forwarded it to the Controller’s Office for review.
The Controller’s Office approved the accept and expend packet and forwarded it to the Mayor’s Office for introduction.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution to retroactively authorize the Department of Public Health to accept and expend the grant.
