How it got here
The legislation originated from the San Francisco Department of Public Health's application for grant funding to support the Capacity and Infrastructure, Transition, Expansion and Development (CITED) Program under the California Providing Access and Transforming Health Initiative.
The Department submitted an application for the PATH CITED IGT grant to the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to support Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports as part of the CalAIM initiative.
DHCS awarded the City a total of $3,225,678.96, which includes $1,612,839.48 in federal funds and a matching amount from the City, for the CITED Program.
Prolonged discussions took place to resolve fiscal issues related to the grant, which delayed the approval process.
The Department prepared the necessary documentation and resolution to present to the Board of Supervisors for retroactive approval to accept and expend the grant funds.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the resolution for the grant acceptance to the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution authorizing the acceptance and expenditure of the grant funds.
The Mayor approved the resolution, finalizing the authorization for the grant.
