How it got here
The Havelock Pedestrian Bridge Safety Improvement Project originated from a state budget earmark to enhance pedestrian safety along Havelock Avenue.
Assembly Bill 102 was enacted, which included an allocation of $500,000 for the Havelock Pedestrian Bridge Safety Improvement Project as part of the California State Budget.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 134-07, authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute agreements with the California Department of Transportation, which is relevant for the current project.
The Planning Department determined that the project is within the scope of the Final Mitigated Negative Declaration for the San Francisco Better Streets Plan and does not require further environmental review.
The Director recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the acceptance of the state earmark for the project and authorized necessary actions to proceed.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the resolution to accept and expend the grant funds for the project.
