Resolution approving the second amendment to the grant agreement between Compass Family Services and the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (“HSH”) for the Urgent Accommodation Vouchers Program for Families and Pregnant People that provides temporary shelter for families experiencing homelessness; extending the grant term by 18 months from December 31, 2024, for a total term of February 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026; increasing the agreement amount by $9,660,200 for a total amount not to exceed $17,801,570; and authorizing HSH to enter into any amendments or other modifications to the second amendment that do not materially increase the obligations or liabilities, or materially decrease the benefits to the City and are necessary or advisable to effectuate the purposes of the agreement.

The Board declared a shelter crisis, affirming the city's commitment to a continuum of shelter and service options for people experiencing homelessness.

HSH entered into a grant agreement with Compass Family Services to administer the Urgent Accommodation Vouchers Program for Families and Pregnant People, with a term through June 30, 2024, for $2,676,346.

The first amendment extended the agreement term to December 31, 2024, and increased the funding to a total of $8,141,370.

The Commission approved the second amendment to the grant agreement, which proposed further funding and an extension of the program.

The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the second amendment to the grant agreement for approval by the Board of Supervisors.

The Board adopted the resolution approving the second amendment, extending the grant term to June 30, 2026, and increasing the funding to $17,801,570.

The Mayor approved the resolution, allowing the second amendment to take effect.
