How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to adopt a Cultural, History, Housing, and Economic Sustainability Strategy Report for the Castro LGBTQ Cultural District, as mandated by the city's Administrative Code.
The City enacted Ordinance No. 126-18, adding Administrative Code, Chapter 107 to establish a process for creating cultural districts.
MOHCD, in partnership with the Castro LGBTQ Cultural District and other city departments, began preparing the Cultural, History, Housing, and Economic Sustainability Strategy Report (CHHESS).
The completed CHHESS Report was submitted to the Board of Supervisors for adoption.
The Land Use and Transportation Committee recommended the passage of the CHHESS Report.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution to adopt the CHHESS Report.
The Mayor approved the resolution adopting the CHHESS Report.
