(Anthem) for participation in a program entitled, “California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Capacity Building Incentive Payment Program,” for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
How it got here
The legislation originated from a need to secure funding for the Department of Public Health's participation in the CalAIM Capacity Building Incentive Payment Program.
The City submitted proposals to local Managed Care Plan partners for funding to address homelessness and housing insecurity, supported by multiple city departments including the Department of Public Health.
The Department outlined a project to create Bridge and Engagement Services Teams to provide health assessments and linkages to resources for homeless individuals.
The grant agreement for the CalAIM Capacity Building Incentive Payment Program became effective, allowing the Department of Public Health to begin utilizing the funds.
The Department received the award letter for the grant, which was necessary for retroactive acceptance and expenditure of the funds.
The Department submitted the accept and expend packet to the Controller’s Office for review after receiving the grant award.
The resolution to retroactively authorize the acceptance and expenditure of the grant was introduced to the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution, allowing the Department of Public Health to accept and expend the grant funds.
