Resolution retroactively authorizing the Port of San Francisco to accept and expend a parking management capital grant in the amount of $200,000 from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), a transportation planning, financing and coordinating agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area, to fund the acquisition and installation of multi-space pay stations; and to authorize the Port Executive Director to enter into amendments or modifications to the agreement that do not materially increase the obligations or liabilities to the City and are necessary to effectuate the purposes of the agreement or this Resolution from September 30, 2024, through January 29, 2027.
How it got here
The legislation originated from the Port of San Francisco's need to improve parking management through a grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
The Port submitted an application for a $200,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration’s Congestion Management and Air Quality Improvement Program, to fund the acquisition and installation of multi-space pay stations.
The MTC awarded the Port $200,000 in CMAQ funds for the purposes of acquiring and installing the pay stations specified in the Port/SFMTA Parking Management Pilot.
The Port Commission adopted Resolution No. 24-06 affirming its support of the Parking Management Pilot and authorized the Port to accept and expend the grant, pending Board of Supervisors approval.
The Mayor's Office submitted a resolution to the Board of Supervisors to authorize the Port to accept and expend the $200,000 grant from MTC.
The Government Audit and Oversight Committee recommended the resolution for approval to the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution, allowing the Port to accept and expend the grant for the installation of multi-space pay stations.
The Mayor approved the resolution, finalizing the authorization for the Port to proceed with the grant.
