Caltrans awarded a grant of $626,000 to San Francisco Public Works for the Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant Program to support the planning phase of the SoMa Under Freeway Park project.
The Director of Public Works issued Order No. 211643 recommending the Board of Supervisors approve the acceptance of the grant and necessary certifications for the project.
Public Works established MOUs with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and Recreation and Park Department for in-kind services to support the project.
The Mayor's Office submitted a resolution to the Board of Supervisors to retroactively authorize the acceptance and expenditure of the grant.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the resolution for approval to the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution authorizing the Department of Public Works to accept and expend the grant for the SoMa Under Freeway Park project.
