The resolution recognizing National Health Center Week originated from the efforts of Supervisor Mandelman and other board members to acknowledge the contributions of community health centers in San Francisco.
The SFCCC, representing 12 community health centers, serves as the largest primary care safety net in San Francisco, caring for over 107,000 patients annually, many of whom are low-income.
Supervisor Mandelman, along with Supervisors Walton, Melgar, Sherrill, Chan, Chen, Dorsey, Sauter, and Engardio, introduced the resolution to recognize National Health Center Week.
The resolution was referred for adoption without committee reference at the next Board meeting.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution recognizing August 4 through August 8, 2025, as National Health Center Week.
The Mayor returned the resolution unsigned, which allowed it to become effective without his approval.
