How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to secure funding for the Housing and Homelessness Incentive Program, which aims to enhance services for individuals experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.
The California Department of Health Care Services awarded a grant of $2,650,986 to the San Francisco Department of Public Health for the Housing and Homelessness Incentive Program, effective July 1, 2023.
An increase in grant funds of $2,268,000 was approved for the project starting January 1, 2025.
Another increase of $2,489,698.63 was approved for the project starting May 15, 2025.
The Board approved the acceptance and expenditure of the second grant increase of $2,489,698.63 under File Number 250620.
A final increase of $250,000 was approved for the project starting November 1, 2025.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the resolution to retroactively authorize the Department of Public Health to accept and expend the total grant amount of $7,658,684.63.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution authorizing the Department of Public Health to accept and expend the grant for the Housing and Homelessness Incentive Program.
