How it got here
This legislation originated from the need to secure funding for the preservation of adult and senior care facilities in San Francisco, prompted by California Assembly Bill 172.
The California Department of Social Services issued a Notice of Funding Availability for the Community Care Expansion Preservation Program, allowing counties to apply for funding to preserve licensed residential care facilities.
An All County Welfare Directors Letter was sent out, providing further guidance on the funding opportunities available under the Community Care Expansion Preservation Program.
The Department of Public Health submitted a proposal to enter into a grant agreement with the California Department of Social Services for $7,431,615 to fund Operating Subsidy Payments and Capital Projects for licensed adult and senior care facilities.
The Budget and Finance Committee recommended the resolution to approve the grant agreement with the California Department of Social Services.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the resolution approving the grant agreement, allowing the Department of Public Health to proceed with the funding.
The Mayor approved the resolution, finalizing the agreement for the Community Care Expansion Preservation Program.
