The draft 2025 San Francisco Climate Action Plan was released, setting ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and proposing the equitable decommissioning of the City's natural gas system.
An Environmental Justice Communities Map was created in consultation with environmental justice communities to identify disadvantaged areas, fulfilling the requirements of Senate Bill 1000.
Senate Bill 1221 was passed, requiring the California Public Utilities Commission to establish a voluntary zonal building decarbonization program and designate priority neighborhoods for pilot projects.
The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 590-25, affirming San Francisco's commitment to equitable building decarbonization efforts that center environmental justice communities.
The Mayor returned the resolution unsigned, but it was still transmitted by the Clerk of the Board.
