How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to update the street encroachment permit for Maiden Lane, reflecting changes in permittee and permissible activities.
The City partnered with the Maiden Lane Association to create a promenade on Maiden Lane for public enjoyment and business stimulation.
A Street Encroachment Permit and associated agreement were established to govern the use of Maiden Lane.
The Board changed the permittee from the Maiden Lane Association to the Union Square Association via Resolution No. 80-05.
The Union Square Association was dissolved, and its assets were merged into the Union Square Business Improvement District, known as the Union Square Alliance.
Supervisor Sauter introduced a resolution to amend the street encroachment permit terms for Maiden Lane.
The committee amended and recommended the resolution for adoption.
The Board adopted the resolution, which included modifications to the street closure hours and designated the Union Square Alliance as the new permittee.
The Mayor approved the resolution, finalizing the changes to the street encroachment permit for Maiden Lane.
