How it got here
The legislation originated from the need to impose interim zoning controls in the PDR-1-G district to regulate laboratory uses and protect the socioeconomic diversity of the Mission District.
The City initiated MAP2020 to address the retention of low- and moderate-income residents and community-serving businesses in the Mission District.
The Planning Commission endorsed MAP2030, which included strategies to maintain PDR capacity and support the socioeconomic diversity of the Mission.
The Planning Department determined that the proposed interim zoning controls comply with the California Environmental Quality Act.
The committee continued the resolution imposing interim zoning controls for laboratory uses in the PDR-1-G district to allow for further review and amendments.
