How it got here
This legislation originated from the need to annex new properties to the Treasure Island Infrastructure and Revitalization Financing District to support ongoing development efforts.
The Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) was designated as a redevelopment agency under California law to oversee the redevelopment of the former Naval Station Treasure Island.
The Planning Commission and TIDA certified the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Treasure Island/Yerba Buena Island Project, which included plans for significant residential and commercial development.
The Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance No. 21-17, forming the Infrastructure and Revitalization Financing District No. 1 (Treasure Island) to finance development through tax increment financing.
The Board amended the Infrastructure Financing Plan to facilitate the administration and distribution of tax increment revenues for the IRFD.
The Mayor's Office submitted a memo requesting the Board of Supervisors to consider a resolution authorizing TIDA to prepare an appendix to the Infrastructure Financing Plan for the annexation of new properties.
The Government Audit and Oversight Committee recommended the resolution to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
The resolution is scheduled for a Board of Supervisors meeting for further consideration.
