Ordinance amending the Planning Code to designate the Early Haight Ashbury Farmhouse, located at 11 Piedmont Street, Assessor’s Parcel Block No. 2617A, Lot No. 026, on the south side of Piedmont Street between Masonic Street and Delmar Street, as a landmark consistent with the standards set forth in Article 10 of the Planning Code; affirming the Planning Department’s determination under the California Environmental Quality Act; and making public necessity, convenience, and welfare findings under Planning Code, Section 302, and findings of consistency with the General Plan, and the eight priority policies of Planning Code, Section 101.1.
How it got here
The legislation to designate the Early Haight Ashbury Farmhouse as a landmark originated from a resolution initiated by the Board of Supervisors and was reviewed by the Historic Preservation Commission.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 095-26 to initiate the landmark designation of the Early Haight Ashbury Farmhouse.
The Mayor approved the initiation resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
The Historic Preservation Commission reviewed the historical significance of the farmhouse and recommended its designation as a landmark by Resolution No. 1569.
The Planning Department transmitted the case for the Early Haight Ashbury Farmhouse to the Board of Supervisors, including the Historic Preservation Commission's recommendation.
A public hearing was noticed for the Land Use and Transportation Committee to consider the landmark designation ordinance.
The committee held a public hearing to consider the ordinance for the landmark designation of the Early Haight Ashbury Farmhouse.
The ordinance is currently at the first reading stage in the Board of Supervisors.
