How it got here
The legislation to create the Chestnut Street Entertainment Zone originated from a proposal by Supervisor Sherrill, prompted by the need to establish designated areas for entertainment and outdoor consumption of alcoholic beverages.
The Planning Department determined that the proposed ordinance complies with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
The Rules Committee received the proposed ordinance to create the Chestnut Street Entertainment Zone and referred it for further review.
The Rules Committee formally referred the ordinance to the Planning Department for review and comments.
The Rules Committee recommended the ordinance as amended for approval by the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors passed the ordinance on first reading, moving it closer to final approval.
The Board of Supervisors finally passed the ordinance, officially establishing the Chestnut Street Entertainment Zone.
