Ordinance amending the Planning Code to designate the House of Latin Rock, located at 2880 25th Street, Assessor’s Parcel Block No. 4266, Lot No. 020C, as a landmark consistent with the standards of Article 10 of the Planning Code; affirming the Planning Department’s determination under the California Environmental Quality Act; and making public necessity, convenience, and welfare findings under Planning Code, Section 302, and findings of consistency with the General Plan and the eight priority policies of Planning Code, Section 101.1.
How it got here
The legislation to designate the House of Latin Rock as a landmark originated from a resolution initiated by the Board of Supervisors and was reviewed by the Historic Preservation Commission.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 120-26, introduced by Supervisor Fielder, to initiate the landmark designation process for the House of Latin Rock.
The Mayor signed the approved resolution, allowing the landmark designation process to proceed.
The Historic Preservation Commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend the landmark designation of the House of Latin Rock, finding it significant for its cultural and historical value.
The Planning Department transmitted the recommendation and supporting documents to the Board of Supervisors for consideration of the landmark designation.
The legislation was assigned under the 30-day rule for further consideration by the Board of Supervisors.
