How it got here
The legislation originated from a grant agreement between the Human Rights Commission and Community United Against Violence to support LGBTQI+ survivors of violence.
The Human Rights Commission issued Request for Proposals #85 to provide funding for projects targeting underserved communities, including LGBTQI+ survivors of violence.
Community United Against Violence submitted a proposal in response to RFP #85 and was selected for grant negotiations.
The Human Rights Commission executed a grant agreement with Community United Against Violence for $200,000 to provide victim assistance to LGBTQI+ survivors.
The initial grant agreement expired, but CUAV continued to operate under the terms of the agreement.
The Human Rights Commission prepared a resolution to retroactively authorize a grant amendment to increase funding by $100,000 and extend the grant term to June 30, 2025.
The proposed resolution for the grant amendment was received and assigned to the Board of Supervisors for committee action.
