How it got here

Voters approved a City Charter Amendment establishing a policy for the membership of Commissions and Boards to reflect the diversity of San Francisco’s population.
The Department published the 2023 Gender Analysis of Commissions and Boards Report, highlighting the need for increased diversity in city commissions, including the Animal Advisory Council.
The Board of Supervisors received and assigned the hearing to consider appointing members to the Animal Advisory Council.
The Rules Committee will review applications for the vacant seats on the Animal Advisory Council and make recommendations for appointments.
