Ordinance amending the Planning Code to designate the Inverness Garage, located at 1565 Bush Street, Assessor’s Parcel Block No. 0671, Lot No. 007, on the south side of Bush Street between Franklin Street and Van Ness Avenue, as a landmark consistent with the standards set forth in Article 10 of the Planning Code; affirming the Planning Department’s determination under the California Environmental Quality Act; and making public necessity, convenience, and welfare findings under Planning Code, Section 302, and findings of consistency with the General Plan, and the eight priority policies of Planning Code, Section 101.1.
How it got here
The legislation to designate the Inverness Garage as a landmark originated from the Family Zoning Plan Landmark Designation Program initiated by Supervisor Stephen Sherrill.
Supervisor Sherrill initiated the landmark designation for fifteen properties, including the Inverness Garage, as part of the Family Zoning Plan Landmark Designation Program.
The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 162-26 to initiate the landmark designation of the Inverness Garage.
Mayor Lurie signed the resolution initiating the landmark designation process for the Inverness Garage.
The Historic Preservation Commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend the landmark designation of the Inverness Garage to the Board of Supervisors.
The Clerk of the Board received the recommendation from the Historic Preservation Commission for the landmark designation of the Inverness Garage.
The President of the Board assigned the ordinance under the 30-day rule for further consideration.
