How it got here
This legislation originated from the need to transfer ownership of the Fillmore Heritage Center properties to the City as part of compliance with the Redevelopment Dissolution Law.
The state dissolved all redevelopment agencies, including the Redevelopment Agency of San Francisco, under AB 26, prompting the need for a successor agency to manage remaining assets and obligations.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 11-12, electing to retain the housing functions of the former agency and designating the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development to manage these functions.
The Oversight Board adopted Resolution No. 14-2015, approving the Long-Range Property Management Plan which included the disposition of the Fillmore Heritage Center properties.
The Commission authorized a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mayorβs Office of Housing and Community Development for implementing retained housing obligations, which included the Fillmore Heritage Center.
The Planning Department found that the transfer of the Fillmore Heritage Center properties is consistent with the General Plan and not considered a project under CEQA.
The resolution approving the acceptance of the Fillmore Heritage Center properties was received from the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development.
The resolution is currently pending committee action in the Board of Supervisors.
