This resolution supports the creation of a permanent cultural monument and public artworks in the Filipino Cultural Heritage District, encouraging the Arts Commission to highlight Filipino culture and identity. It also suggests that the SOMA Pilipinas Gateway Project can serve as a model for promoting social and racial equity through art that reflects the contributions of diverse communities in San Francisco.

Resolution expressing support for a permanent cultural monument and public realm artworks for the Filipino Cultural Heritage District; urging the Arts Commission to commission new works that center voices and stories that are not currently highlighted in the Civic Art Collection, such as permanent and temporary public realm artworks that reflect Filipino culture and identity; and finding that the SOMA Pilipinas Gateway Project could provide a model for the City to advance social and racial equity by visually uplifting the rich history and collective experience, contributions, struggles, and triumphs of people of color and immigrant communities who are an important part of San Francisco’s diversity and soul as a City.

This resolution approves a settlement for a grievance filed by the San Francisco Deputy Sheriff’s Association, resulting in a payment of $94,675 to resolve an employment dispute. The grievance pertains to issues outlined in the existing employment agreement between the deputies and the city.

Resolution approving the settlement of the grievance filed on October 20, 2021, by San Francisco Deputy Sheriff’s Association on behalf of class 8504 Deputy Sheriffs, 8304 Deputy Sheriffs and 8306 Senior Deputy Sheriffs against the City and County of San Francisco by the payment of $94,675; the grievance involves an employment dispute under the Memorandum of Understanding.

The ordinance requires medical specimen collection sites to partner with certain approved entities, maintain hygiene and privacy standards, and prohibits them from paying individuals for tests. Violations of these standards can result in misdemeanor charges and administrative penalties from the Department of Public Health.

Ordinance amending the Health Code to require that sites that collect medical specimens on behalf of clinical laboratories partner with either a governmental entity, a licensed health care provider located in the City, or an educational or academic institution, establish hygiene, sanitation, and privacy standards, and adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act; prohibiting such sites from paying individuals to take a medical test; and providing that a violation of the specimen collection standards is a misdemeanor offense and a public health nuisance subject to an administrative penalty that may be imposed by the Department of Public Health.

This legislation calls for a hearing to examine the working conditions and support available for women with children in the San Francisco Police Department, focusing on lactation resources and childcare. It also requests reports from several city departments on these issues.

Hearing on the working conditions and accommodations for working women with children in the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), including access to clean and adequate lactation resources and childcare; and requesting the SFPD, Department of Human Resources, Department of Early Childhood, and Department on the Status of Women to report.

The hearing aims to discuss crime and violence affecting Asian-American seniors and other vulnerable groups, focusing on prevention efforts and support services. Various city departments will report on their strategies to enhance public safety and promote solidarity among communities.

Hearing to address concerns on crime and violence targeting Asian-American seniors and other vulnerable groups and the rise of anti-Asian racism, including crime prevention efforts, status of investigations, victim services programs, other public safety resources, and strategies the departments are deploying to reduce crime and violence targeting the Asian Pacific Islander and person of color communities and to promote cross-racial solidarity; and requesting the Police Department, Office of the District Attorney, Human Rights Commission, Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs, Adult Probation Department, and Juvenile Probation Department to report.

This resolution allows the Department of Juvenile Probation to use a $360,570 grant from the California Department of Social Services for Intensive Foster Care and Family Preservation Services from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2026. It was passed retroactively to authorize the funding.

Resolution retroactively authorizing the Department of Juvenile Probation to accept and expend a grant allocation from the California Department of Social Services in the amount of $360,570 for the period of October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2026, for Intensive Foster Care and Family Preservation Services.

This resolution allows the San Francisco Public Library to use a $375,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for its Jail and Reentry Services Program, covering the period from October 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. It has already been approved.

Resolution retroactively authorizing the San Francisco Public Library to accept and expend a grant not to exceed amount of $375,000 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the Jail and Reentry Services Program for the performance period of October 1, 2023, through December 31, 2024.

This resolution allows the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families to use a $1,000,000 federal grant for the "STOP School Violence Program" from October 2, 2023, to October 1, 2026. The funding aims to improve the school climate in the San Francisco Unified School District through enhanced crisis support coordination.

Resolution retroactively authorizing the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families to accept and expend a grant in the amount of $1,000,000 from the United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for participation in a program, entitled “STOP School Violence Program,” for the period of October 2, 2023, through October 1, 2026; the funds will enhance the current San Francisco School Crisis Support Coordination Project to improve San Francisco Unified School District’s school climate.
