This legislation calls for a hearing to evaluate the performance of San Francisco's various street response teams, including those from the Fire Department, Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, and Department of Public Health. It also requests reports from these departments on how they manage and coordinate their efforts.

Hearing on the Budget and Legislative Analyst's (BLA) performance audit of San Francisco's street teams, including the Fire Department’s street response teams, the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing’s (HSH) outreach and response teams, and the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) street medicine and other teams, and planning, implementation, structure, and coordination for management of the street teams amongst various City departments, including the Department of Emergency Management (DEM); and requesting the Fire Department, HSH, DPH, and DEM to report.

This resolution accepts the reports from the Sheriff’s Department Oversight Board for the first and second quarters of 2023. It acknowledges the board's findings and activities during that time.

This hearing will evaluate the Controller's Annual Performance Report and its effects on the city budget, while also assessing how various departments are achieving their performance goals. Several city departments, including the Fire Department and Police Department, will be asked to provide updates during this hearing.

This ordinance establishes fire safety standards for charging and storing lithium-ion batteries in powered mobility devices, bans the use of damaged batteries, and prohibits the use of reconditioned batteries made from used cells. It also requires the Fire Department to run an informational campaign about these regulations.

Ordinance amending the Fire Code to provide fire protection standards for the charging and storage of lithium-ion batteries used in powered mobility devices (such as electric bikes, scooters, skateboards, and hoverboards), prohibit use of damaged lithium-ion batteries in such devices, prohibit use of lithium-ion batteries assembled or reconditioned using cells removed from used batteries in such devices, and require the Fire Department to conduct an informational campaign; affirming the Planning Department’s determination under the California Environmental Quality Act; and directing the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to forward this Ordinance to the California Building Standards Commission upon final passage.

This resolution formally apologizes to African Americans and their descendants for historical discrimination and violence in San Francisco. It also commits the Board of Supervisors to addressing and correcting these past injustices.
