This legislation calls for a hearing to examine how the city's hiring practices impact racial equity and to assess progress towards achieving diverse representation in city jobs. It also requests a report from the Office of the Budget and Legislative Analyst on these issues.

This ordinance updates definitions related to gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, and disability in various chapters of the Administrative Code to enhance anti-discrimination protections. This ordinance removes the $50 surcharge on civil, family, or probate court filings in San Francisco that was previously used to fund courtroom projects. The change means residents will no longer pay this additional fee when filing these types of cases.
