This ordinance allows the Department of Human Resources to manage the T.J. Anthony Employee Catastrophic Illness Program and the Catastrophic Illness Program for the family members of city employees. It updates the Administrative Code to facilitate these functions.

The ordinance reallocates funds totaling $399,950 from the General City Responsibility and $150,000 from the Municipal Transportation Agency to various projects, including mural artwork, playground improvements, park maintenance, digital literacy courses, and traffic calming measures. It aims to enhance community spaces and services across several neighborhoods in San Francisco.

Ordinance de-appropriating $399,950 from General City Responsibility and $150,000 from Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) and re-appropriating $50,000 to the Arts Commission (ART) for mural artwork in West Portal; $125,000 to Children, Youth and Their Families (CHF) for picnic tables at Commodore Sloat Elementary, Playground improvements and seating at Sunnyside Elementary, and a new playground at Jefferson Elementary; $162,750 to the Department of Public Works (DPW) for maintenance of Westwood Park pillars, benches at Monterey and Gennessee, parklet planting in Inner Sunset, median planting on Marietta Drive, and fence repairs at Edgehill Way; $13,200 to the San Francisco Public Library (LIB) for Digital Literacy courses; $49,000 to the Department of Recreation and Parks (REC) for renovation of the Marview Way Trail; and $150,000 to the Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) for traffic calming on Yerba Buena Avenue, Ulloa Street, Laguna Honda Boulevard, Rockaway Avenue, and Monterey Boulevard and a Public Parklet on Slow Hearst in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-2025.

This resolution approves an extension and increase in funding for a contract aimed at creating job training and workforce development programs, as well as maintaining clean public restrooms. The contract will now run from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2025, with a total budget of up to $16,238,478.52.

The ordinance authorizes the City and County of San Francisco to settle a lawsuit for $200,000 related to an alleged civil rights violation. The lawsuit was filed by Jane Doe in September 2022 in federal court.

This resolution allows the Sheriff’s Office to extend its food services contract with ARAMARK for one year, until October 31, 2025, and increases the total contract amount from $20 million to approximately $24.8 million. The extension and funding are intended to ensure continued food services in the jail.

Resolution authorizing the Sheriff’s Office to execute a Third Amendment to the existing Agreement with ARAMARK Correctional Services, LLC (ARAMARK), for jail food services to exercise the final option to extend the contract term for 12 months from November 1, 2024, for a total term of November 1, 2018, through October 31, 2025; and to increase the not to exceed contract amount from $20,000,000 to $24,783,723.

Resolution retroactively authorizing the Department of Technology to enter into a contract with Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (“CENIC”) and to provide fiber optic cable strands to establish a fiber optic network in support of CENIC services to provide data connectivity for the University of California, San Francisco (“UCSF”) for the period between May 25, 2011, through May 25, 2031, with an expected revenue of $6,970,000.

This motion appoints Beverly Karnatz to the Commission on Disability and Aging Advisory Council, with her term set to end on March 31, 2026. The council advises the city on issues affecting people with disabilities and older adults.
